Equity Disclaimers
Dear MHSCRISIS Delegates,
MHSCRISIS strives to foster an inclusive environment where delegates and staff feel safe, respected, and heard. By attending MHSCRISIS, you are agreeing to abide by the code of conduct outlined below. Failure to comply with the MHSCRISIS Code of Conduct may result in various penalties; including disqualification from awards and removal from the conference.
Behavioral Expectations
Harassment and bullying in any form will not be tolerated, the nature of which includes, but is not limited to racial discrimination, national origin, ethnicity, colour, religion, sex, age, mental and physical disabilities, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. This extends to any written and/or verbal communication during the conference, inclusive of notes, conversation both during and outside committees, and general demeanour at conference events. Attendees must not engage in any behaviour that constitutes physical violence or the threat of violence against any groups and/or individuals, including sexual violence and harassment. Contingent on the gravity and frequency of the offence(s), MHSCRISIS possesses the right to confer penalties that may range from written warnings to disqualification from award reception to complete removal from the conference.
Technology Policy
In order to include all participants, this will be a techless conference. You will only be granted technology during unmoderated periods, and only for resolution/public directive writing, not research. This means all research notes and position papers should be printed out before the conference.
Plagiarism and Pre-Written Resolutions
All position papers must be the delegate’s own work. Delegates should always take great care to distinguish their own ideas and knowledge from information derived from sources through the proper citation of all quoted and paraphrased material. In order to ensure that solutions are uniquely tailored to the topic at hand as well as delegate engagement throughout the conference, all resolutions, public directives and supporting materials submitted must be written during committee sessions.
AI-generated work is unacceptable, and any delegate found to have violated the above policies will be disqualified from award contention.
Distressing Topics
While MHSCRISIS committees and topics have been selected to avoid discussion of potentially distressing topics, and trigger warnings have been placed in background guides where relevant debate may take unexpected turns on the day of the conference. MHSCrisis will not prohibit any avenues of debate that come up naturally in the committee but asks that delegates handle sensitive topics with the utmost respect for everyone involved. The Dias will use its judgement to determine how far debate should be allowed to continue; however, if delegates feel uncomfortable with such, please refer to the Reporting Equity Concerns section below.
Reporting Equity Concerns
During the conference, delegates will be able to contact the equity team through an online equity reporting form. Delegates will have the option to remain anonymous. Delegates may be contacted via email for further information if needed. Please do not hesitate to contact the Equity Team with any questions, concerns, or irregularities throughout the duration of the conference.
